Elephant
Elephant Chilli Seeds. The Elephant (C. Annuum) is an heirloom cultivar also known as “Vezena Piperka” in its native regions of Bulgaria/Macedonia/Kosovo. It's "corking" on the exterior skin is an immediate give away. It's name, derived from its exterior corking which resembles an elephants skin. This cultivar produces small to medium sized plants, with an expected height of around 100cm, give or take. Plants have more of a Jalapeño nature, producing a good dozen pods that are somewhere between the shape of a Jalapeño and cayenne. The pods ripen from a lights green, through dark green to red once fully mature. Medium fleshy pods have a lovely red flesh and all round peppery burn that is respectable. Heat wise, these pods are in the region of around 10,000 - 30,000 SHU. The flavour of these pods is very interesting, with a very minerally flavour profile which very much reminded us of the Jalapeño Farmers Market Potato flavour wise. A really cool variety to grow.
