Zimbabwe Black Chilli Seeds
Zimbabwe Black chilli seeds. The Zimbabwe Black is of unknown origins. It belongs to the C. Annuum family of plants. Germination and growth is good with seedlings immediately displaying its characteristic dark purple/black & green foliage. A small compact plant, the Zimbabwe Black is ideal for pot plants, kitchen windows and balconies. The plant has striking foliage and amazingly beautiful purple flowers that develop into black/dark purple pods. Pods are small tepin shaped and the plant produces lots of pods. This is another one of those plants that may look ornamental with its super good looks, but the pods on theis plant are actually very tasty and well suited for the kitchen. Pods eventually ripen from their black/dark purple to a red/dark red. The aroma is a lovely medley of fruity, vegetative and minerally. These small pods are crunchy and juicy with a really firm burn that reached well into the back of the throat. The favour is fruity and vegetative with a slight minerally/salty taste to them. Actually very tasty. The heat of these little gems is probably around 40,000 - 60,000 SHU. Ideal for using fresh or adding into cooked food - these pods will lend themselves very well to drying and making into flakes or powder. A really lovely little plant to have in any chilli collection!

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
