White Bhut Jolokia Chilli Seeds
White Bhut Jolokia chilli seeds. The White Bhut Jolokia (C. Chinense) is variation of the classic Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper). The original Ghost Pepper is red and is considered Indias's hottest chilli. The Ghost Pepper is infamous for its 1,000,000 SHU heat, fantastic flavour and exceptionally long burn. This variety certainly has a Bhut Jolokia pheno with bumpy, elongated pods. The difference being that these are white - or rather cream/ivory when fully ripe. White Bhut Jolokias are not naturally ocurring and it does need to be pointed out that these have been specifically bred by growers to be white. These seeds can be a little tricky to germinate, but are well worth the effort. Plants grow really well into a compact small bush with dense foliage and a really generous crop of pods. Pods ripen from a almost white green to ivory/cream when fully ripe. These are some of the most beautiful pods we have seen and certainly look like white Bhut Jolokia Pods. These pods have a wonderful Bhut aroma - floral and sweet. Heat on these chillies is slightly lower than the original Ghost Peppers and we estimate that heat on these is around 600,000 - 800,000. Possibly with good growing conditions, this could be higher. Flavour is fruity and sweet with that typical floral bhut flavour. The burn is very peppery and has an intense front of mouth and knocking on the back of throat kind of burn. This pepper is just amazing with its white pods - so definitely a looker and really a fantastic chilli for cooking applications. Powder, sauce, salsas and can be used in stews. This chilli may not be as hot as the original, but it is still very very hot!

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
