Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chilli Seeds
Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chilli Seeds. The Thunder Mountain Longhorn (C. Annum) is totally unique. It is probably one of the longest chillies we have ever grown. This could quite possibly be the longest chilli in the world. This is an heirloom variety from Guizou, China. It gets its name from a mountain range in the region. These chillies germinate and grow well. This plant shares many of the Cayenne style characteristics. Plants grow to about 60 - 80cm in height, producing lots of thin irregular cayenne style pods that grow from the top of the plant all the way down to the ground. Pods are a lightish green that eventually change to a lovely red colour when fully ripe. Flavour wise, these chillies have a lovely complex herbaceous flavour about them. These chillies are very mild in our experience with just a very mild tingle - if that. Tradition has it that these chillies are dried and smoked, turning them into a lovely delicate mild chilli powder used for seasoning.

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
