Tabasco Chilli Seeds

Tabasco Chilli Seeds. Tabasco (C. Frutescens) Now this cultivar is legendary. Made world famous by a well known brand who use this cultivar in their famous Hot Sauce that is pretty much known around the world. Many people are surpised to know that that “Tabasco” is actually a cultivar.

Tabsco's can be tricky to germinate... but once these plants get going they are massive producers! A lovely chilli and a must have in any chillihead’s garden, these plants grow up to about 1,2/1,5m in height producing loads of small PeriPeri shaped pods that go from an off white to a red colour once ripe. The pods may be small, but the sheer quantity and juiciness and intensity of flavour of each pod more than make up for their size. Each plant will produce hundreds of facing heaven pods, that ripen from off white, through orange to red when fully ripe. Pods are deciduous and will easily separate from their calyx. Often just the gentles of touch will knock the fruit from the plant when ripe. It is not uncommon to find fruit lying on the ground below the plants.

Their buttery and juicy texture makes these fruit ideal for making hot sauce. These little gems have a proper burn on them, somewhere in the region of 60,000 – 100,000 SHU. They have an exceptional fruity & sweet flavour and aroma. Their sweetness makes them ideal for fermenting. A must have cultivar in any growers list of chillies.
