Serrano Monte D'Oro
Serrano Monte D'Oro Chilli Seeds. The Serrano Monte D'Oro (C. Annuum) is a unusual Annuum variety that we understand originates from Italy. Not much is known about this variety. If the name is anything to go by, then this variety might be traced to Montedoro in the province of Caltanisseta in the Italian region of Sicily. This chilli may look like a Birdseye/PeriPeri - but it is not. The name suggests that this is like a Serrano - but it is not. This is a very very hot Annuum. A good grower and awesome producer of Birdseye like pods. Pods are thin skinned with quite a few seeds in them - so not like a Serrano in the sense that this is not a fleshy chilli at all. Pods are facing heaven and ripen late season from green to orange and finally red. Flavour on these is very fruity/peppery. The heat on these we estimate at around 100,000 SHU if not over. The burn is firm and front of mouth with a really awesome long extended burn. These chillies could be used dried to make very hot chilli powder or can be used fresh in stews or salsas to add immediate heat. A very nice, unusual variety to grow and very productive!

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
