Scotch Bonnet Freeport Orange Chilli Seeds. The Scotch Bonnet Freeport Orange (C Chinense) is simply amazing. This is a Caribbean classic. This Scotch Bonnet has an amazing pod shape and flavour is fantastic. A good germinator and grower. Expect a height of around 40-50cm on this plant. A compact plant that yields lots of these amazing pods. Pods ripen from light green to Orange when fully ripe. These pods have a wonderfully sweet aroma of banoffee and citrus. Flavour wise, Scotch Bonnets rule supreme with sweet fruity flavours. Heat is around the mid to upper spectrum of Habanero heat. For those chillihead among us that who do not like Habaneros, this is a very good alternative to the humble Habanero. This chilli lends itself to many applications in the kitchen. Raw in salsas, boiled into sauces, cooked in stews or dried and made into a most aromatic chilli powder. This is an all round winner!
