Ruby Teardrops chilli seeds. The Ruby Teardrop (C. Annuum) is a lesser known variety, but really awesome plant. Compact, delicate and bushy this plant grows well and has grown to around 50 - 60cm in our experience. Lovely dark purple/black foliage and teardrop shaped black pods that are downward hanging, mature to red when fully ripe. Flavour on these chillies is distincly annuum. Upfront heat and a lovely peppery burn. Heat tops at around 80,000 - 100,000 SHU. This plant is very eye catching due to its colour. An attractive chilli plant that would do well in the garden as well as container growing. These chillies definitely have their place in the kitchen too. Great for cooking and super for making chilli flakes or powder. We have a really soft spot for this plant. It's unusual and seems to just tick all the boxes.
