Numex Lemon Spice
Numex Lemon Spice Chilli Seeds. The Numex Lemon Spice (C. Annuum) was created by Numexico State University. This exciting new cultivar of Jalapeño was bread in conjunction with the Numex Orange Spice and the Numex Pumpkin Spice. All three colour variants were created from a cross of Bell Pepper and Early Jalapeno.
The Numex Lemon Spice is a small to medium plant that has typical Annuum growth and dense foliage and generous production of Jalapeno shaped pods that ripen from a dark green to yellow. These pods are in our experience on the smaller side of normal Jalapenos, but may well grow larger if grown in larger containers. These pods have a very striking bright yellow appearance. Thick fleshed Jalapenos as can be expected from Jalapenos with a higher than expected burn. Heat on these is around 15,000 – 20,000 SHU. Flavour is very much citrus with a fruity, mineral aspect as well.
We understand that this cultivar may offer resistance to Phytophthora Blight disease resistance.
