Macska Piros Erös Paprika
Macska Piros Erös Paprika seeds. An heirloom C. Annuum variety from Hungary. A small to medium sized plant in our experience with a good yield of cayenne type pods that turn from green to red. Pods have a very clean, fruity aroma. Taste wise, pods have a clean fruity flavour with citrus undertones. Heat wise, these chillies come in at around around 5,000 - 10,000 SHU. The burn from these chillies builds and takes a while to register. The burn is localised and peppery, with a nice lingering burn.
These peppers could be used fresh in cooking, but would suit themselves perfectly for drying and turning into a superb picant paprika powder. The word "Erös" meaning strong. This would make a really nice strong / hot paprika powder.
