Jimmy Nardello
Jimmy Nardello Sweet Frying Pepper seeds. This is an heirloom pepper variety from the US. The Jimmy Nardello Pepper belongs to the C. Annuum variety of plants. History has it that the seeds were brought over to the US by the Nardello family that moved from Southern Italy to Connecticut in around 1887. The peppers were named after their son - Jimmy and rapidly gained popiularity with locals. It is now a well established pepper in the area and savoured by many for the sweet peppery taste. Seeds germinate well and plant growth is good with the Jimmy Nardello. Pods are cayenne like, but have no heat. Pods are larger than cayennes, but have the same pheno. Pods change from a dark green to red when fully ripened. These peppers have a lovely citrus, sweet, peppery aroma when cut open. Flavour wise these peppers taste sweet and fruity. These peppers are traditionally best suited to frying in a pan with a little oil. Peppers are butterflied and fried until slightly blackened on the outer skin. The skin on these peppers are soft and once cooked this pepper is buttery and juicy with a truly sublime sweet flavour. This would go well with cold meats or preserved in olive oil. But is equally as good served raw in a salad.

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
