Hatvani Erös Paprika

Hatvani Erös Paprika chilli seeds. The Hatvani Erös Paprika (C. Annuum) is an heirloom Hungarian Paprika variety that originates from the town of Havan in the country of Heves. This is a small chilli plant that reaches a height of around 40 - 50cm in our experience. A good producer of pointed pendant shaped pods that have a slight curvature to them and are smooth on the exterior. The pods ripen from a light green to a deep red colour when fully ripe. The word "Erös" meaning strong - delivers a medium heat in our books, which is perfect for sauces and making powders. Traditionally this pepper is tied up into ristras and dried to make a quality dark red Paprika that is fruity and piquant. This variety is best known for its quick ripening potential in comparison to other Paprika varieties that can take a long time to ripen.
