Facing Heaven

Facing Heaven Chilli Seeds. This small plant produces loads of pods that as the name implies, face upwards... which is quite unusual for chillies. The pods are cylindrical/coneoid in shape and ripen from a light green to yellow, to orange to a most amazing red colour that is very iridescent. Apparently this chilli is prized for this red colour in Szechuan cooking, because the red pigment in the chillies is a natural colourant for food and great for making oil red too. Chillies in our experience have a fresh, fruity and clean citrus taste. Not so much on the heat side of things... but a great interesting little chilli for any patio or windowsill.
