Chiltepin Chihuahua Chilli Seeds
Chiltepin Chihuahua Chilli Seeds. The Chiltepin Chichuahua (C. Annuum) come to us via a grower in the US. This cultivar gets it’s name’s sake from the Mexican State of Chihuahua. Which is also home to a town called Chiltepin.
The Chiltepin Chihuahua is a lovely cultivar. A lovely compact and bushy plant that can expect to reach a good metre if not larger. Pods do vary in size on the plant and grow facing heaven. Pods vary from round to oval and ripen from a dark green to brilliant red.
We found these pods to be great fro drying. When fully ripe, these pods become very juicy and soft, which would ideally lend themselves to sauce making. Though it would take quite a few pods to make up sufficient quantities. A lovely fruity flavour on these with minerally undertones. A lengthy gentler burn than experienced with other cultivars of Chiltepin, these pods do give a super well rounded burn.
A great chilli to have in the garden as well as the kitchen. Probably best suited for drying and making into powder or chilli flakes. This is a very versatile chilli to use around the kitchen. Aside from this, smoking these would produce an amazing powder or flakes.

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
