Cheiro Recife

Cheiro Recife chilli seeds. This chilli is one of those rare and unusual chillies that comes from Brazil. Not much information about this variety, but we presume Recife is the name of the city that this variety is named after. "Cheiro" literally translated means "Smell" in portuguese. And this is a very aromatic chilli indeed! Very characteristic pods with a heart shaped pheno with a pronounced point. This chilli is quite similar to the Biquinho/Chupetinho, but is different. Pods change from a light pale green cream to orange and ultimately red. The exterior of these pods is bumpy and not smoothe like the Biquinho chillies. These chillies have a fantastic Habanero/Scotch Bonnet aroma and are crunchy and very juicy. Flavour is diluted habanero flavour. Heat is medium, but can surprise if plants are under watered. These would be great for salsas, cooking and making into a lovely medium strength chilli powder that has a fantastic aroma.
