Carolina Reaper X Jay\'s Peach Ghost Scorpion Chilli Seeds
Carolina Reaper X Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion. The Carolina Reaper X Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion (C. Chinense) is a hybrid of two very hot chillis. The Carolina Reaper that currently holds the title of the World's Hottest Chilli and the Jay's Ghost Scorpion that is not as hot on paper, but dishes out one of the most painful burns that a chilli can dish out. We have loaded this variety in our playground as this variety is not stable and mutations/variations must be expected. This chilli is for those of you while like to experiment and enjoy unexpected outcomes. Plants are typically Chinense with an expectant height of around 100cm. Pods are very unusual looking with a general Bhutlah kind of shape and a tail at the end. We have seen pods that are much more bumpy and have much longer tails than the pods on our plant, but as we say variations are to be expected. Our pods ripened from from a green to peachy colour and somewhere between peach and orange when fully ripened. Quite an unusual colour actually. These pods are thin skinned and have a fair amount of placenta inside - lots of capsaicin on the inside. The aroma from these is sweet, fruity and slightly floral. Flavour is bitter up front and sweet and fruity there after with a little of that Naga floral flavour. Heat on these is way up there. Given the genetic make up of these chillies, the burn on these is very severe with front of mouth and back of throat burn second to none. In the kitchen these will be used sparingly. These pods are superhot! Used with discretion in salsas, sauces and in stews, these will add immediate heat. These are also great for drying - so chilli flakes and powder would also be a great option.
