Brazillian Reaper Chilli Seeds. The Brazillian Reaper (C. Chinense) is a hybrid variety that is a cross between the Brazillian Ghost Pepper and the Carolina Reaper - hence its name. This is actually a very cool variety to grow. In our experience, this variety does not seem 100% stable. Normal germination, followed by good consistent growth, makes this variety stand out. Plants are very much Chinense, with large branching plants that can reach 60 - 80cm in height. A good producer in our books, producing lots of large, uneven, gnarly - angry looking pods. There does appear to be an inconsistent pheno on these. While some pods show small tails, others do not - but this is also the case with the pure Carolina Reaper strain. Pods ripen from a green to lovely red colour when fully ripe. As mentioned, these pods are lumpy and bumpy and increadibly hot. Tasty, very tasty - but insanely hot! The inside of these pods is full of placenta and oil, so expect serious heat :) Aroma wise, these pods reveal a fruity & floral aroma. The floral probably coming from the Ghost Pepper side of things. Heat wise, we would place the Brazillian Reaper at 1,000,000 - 1,300,000 SHU. It will fluctuate according to growing conditions, but this is a very hot pepper by any standards. Use sparingly in your cooking or great for drying and making chilli powder, or liquidise and make a cracking chilli sauce.
