Borg 9 Long chilli seeds. The Borg 9 Long (C. Chinense) is a variant of the Borg 9 with a long pheno. The Borg 9 was created by John Harper in the UK and was a cross between the Nagalah (which is a cross between a Naga & Trinidad 7Pot Douglah) and a Trinidad 7Pot Bubblegum. It is quite possible that in this particular variation the Naga (Bhut Jolokia) traits have manifested more, which has resulted in these super long and big pods. These plants are prolific. Typical chinense plant structure with large foliage. Pods set early and grow consistently and well in our experience. These plants are big producers of pods with very large pods by any standards. Pods are generally more naga shaped and very gnarly. Some of the pods on our plants were shorter and more rounded (like the original Borg 9 pods), so our assumption is that this variety is not totally stable. Variations must be expected and for this reason we have placed this variety in our experimental category. Flavour is superb. If you are not one for the florally flavours of Nagas and 7pot chillies, then this is a great chilli for you. The pods smell and taste fruity and sweet - absolutely delicious! But be warned, these pods are superhot. Way up there on the Scoville scale, these babies hand out punishment by the truckload. There is no official heat test done on these, but we estimate that these are somewhere between 800,000 - 1,000,000 SHU. The burn of these is front of mouth and back of throat and very intense and lingering. Great flavour means these will be well suited for stonking hot chilli sauce, powder, salsa and will spice up any stew with easy. A really awesome superhot to grow - great grower, big pods, super heat, super flavour and massive yield. That ticks all the right boxes in our books!
