Big Yellow Mama Chilli Seeds. The Big Yellow Mama (C. Chinense) was created by Troy Primo, USA. This variety is a sister plant to the Big Red Mama. This variety is as a result of a cross between Naga Morich and Trinidad 7Pot Douglah. Based on this fact alone, you just know this chilli is going to be a killer. Plant grows very well to a height of around 80 - 100cm. Typical chinense plant structure to these with a good yield of large conoid shaped pods. These pods were slightly more squat and broader than its red twin in our experience. Pods ripen from green to an amazing rich yellow colour. Pods were not excessively large as the name eludes in our experience, but this may well have been due to the growing conditions. However pods were lumpy, bumpy and intimidating from the exteriror. What was revealed on opening the pod was an isntantly recognisable smell of "you are going to get your booty kicked". Sweet, fruity, citrus aromas greeted the senses. Flavour on these is fruity and less sweet than its red sister, with more citrus and less floral. The heat and burn on these is instant and intense. We are estimating these to be around 900,000 - 1,100,000 SHU. Definate throat burn on these chillies - very very very hot. Yet, great flavour. A really awesome variety to grow for sauces and chillies for some seriously hot dishes.
