Beth Boyd Scotch Bonnet Chilli Seeds
Beth Boyd Scotch Bonnet Chilli Seeds. This Scotch Bonnet (C. Chinense) cultivar is named after Beth Boyd the “Chile Queen” (aka “Aji Queen”) from Houston, Texas. Beth is also credited with bringing the fabulous Foodarama Scotch Bonnets and Zapotec Jalapeno back into the chilli community. “Aji Queen” as she was so instrumental in opening up the chilli community to all the brilliant South American peppers we enjoy so much today. Sadly Beth passed way too early, but here legacy lives on in these incredible peppers.
This cultivar grows to a good 0,8 – 1,0m in height. Bushy plants that produce well throughout the season yielding dozens of up to golf ball shaped, beautifully folded yellow pods. The heat in our experience is approachable for a Chinese, roughly 150,000 – 250,000 SHU. The aroma and flavour for these are on point – lovely sweet Scotch Bonnet aroma, bannoffe (that we love so much) and a cleaner citrus on the palette. A lovely well rounded burn follows, making this a totally enjoyable pepper. Fantastic to grow and very usable in the kitchen. These will make awesome fresh salsas, sauce and a killer aromatic dried powder. A double thumbs up from us!

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
