Aji Rainforest Chilli Seeds. The Aji Rain Forest (Capsicum Baccatum) originates form Brazil. For those of you who do not like it too hot, there’s good news here. An estimated 3,000 – 5,000 SHU, means these are on the mild side of things. Great growers, this cultivar has a rather unusual wispy and sprawling almost creeper like nature. It will easily reach 3-4 metres on a trellis and will happily grow for several years in mild frost zones (proviso, that its in a sheltered sunny spot – north facing wall is super). This is a massive producer and pods can be expected all year round. Pods ripen from green to orange and ultimately red. Large pods that are up to golf ball in size and super for stuffing, pickling, saucing, using fresh and also great to dry for powder. Fresh pods are thin skinned and crunchy. A slight hint of that baccatum cologne, followed by fresh lemony and fruity flavour. This is a truly awesome cultivar to grow and one that has the potential to yield years of joy.
