Aji Lemon
Aji Lemon chilli seeds. The Aji Lemon is a much sought after C. Baccatum variety. It is an all round classic in any chilli garden. The Aji Lemon is also called Aji Lemon Drop, Lemon Drop, Aji Limon or Aji Limo. This is one of those chilli plants you want to have in your garden. Medium to large structured plants that yield lots of beautiful bright yellow pendant shaped pods. Not just prized for their pods, but very attractive in the garden too. The Aji Lemon is an easy grower. It germinates well and grows furiously, producing a really well structured plant that produces lots of pods that appear early in the season. But, having said this - waiting for the grass green pods to change colour is a long waiting game. Fruits will take longer than usual to ripen and when they do, they will reveal a bedazzling splendour of bright yellow pods. Pheno shape is elongated and pendant like. Pods have faint striations running along the length of the pods and the tips are slightly pronounced. Cut open, pods are crisp and hollow inside. Not much placenta in these pods. The aroma is clean and citrus. Flavour is very distinct and unusual, with a sweet, clean citrus flavour with a hint of cologne. Heat on the Aji Lemon is at around 30,000 - 50,000 SHU. A pleasant, well rounded and lingering burn from these chillies. In the kitchen, this is a great chilli to be used fresh. Its colour will be spectacular in food. Super for drying, these pods will make an amazing chilli powder too. The Aji Lemon is definitely one of those chillies you have to try - an all round winner in our books!

* The container sizes above are sugested sizes that are reasonable and accessible for most growers (taking price, space, ecological/environmental impact into consideration). Not everyone can look at growing in huge containers. If you can justify growing in larger containers - there are no limitations on container sizes. You may however, rather look at growing in soil as an option in these instances. Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
