Aji Cito

Aji Cito Chilli Seeds. The Aji Cito belongs to the Capsicum Baccatum family of chilli plants. In our experience, this plant is very similar to, but different to the Aji Lemon. Seeds germinate well and growth is very rapid. The plant can reach a structured plant height of about 60cm in our experience, but quite possibly larger. Beautiful white flowers with greenish/yellow accents that are typical of Baccatum plants, rapidly develop into pods early on in the season. A medium to large plant, the Aji Cito does produce well. Pods are elongated, pendant like and grass green at the start. Ripening of pods can take some time (as is usual with Baccatums in our experience) and will eventually change to a golden yellow / orange that is very eye catching. The chillies from the Aji Cito we understand to be the hottest pods tested in the Baccatum family of plants. This chilli is definitely a sought after chilli variety that will add colour to any garden. The real prize of this chilli is the pods. Super aromatic and tasty pods that are crisp, fruity and flavourful. These pods will add great accent colour to any dish and will be best served fresh with seafood, in a sauce or turned into a chilli powder. Flavour wise this chilli is sweet and fruity (citrus/apricot) with ever so slight a taste of cologne about them. The heat from these pods ranges around the 60,000 - 100,000 SHU mark, reputedly the hottest of all Baccatum chillies. The burn from these chillies is intense and pleasantly lingering. This is a really great all round variety to grow! It is an easy grower, looks spectacular in the garden and is very versatile in the kitchen. A definate all round winner in our books.

Using large amounts of potting medium will come with ecological/environmental impact, which you may wish to take into consideration.
