Poinsettia Chilli Seeds. The Poinsettia (C. Annuum) is a very striking plant. It gets it's name from the Poinsettia flower and ina very similar fashion it has clusters of upward facing red chillies that do resemble bursts of red colour like Poinsettia flowers. Plants do have a tendancy to grow very vertical and tall and would definitely benefit from topping in early spring before flowers and fruits set. Pods are pendant shaped with a slight wave and ripen from a lime green to red when fully ripe. Flavour and aroma is very typically cayenne with a straight forward peppery flavour and burn. Heat on these is around 5,000 to possibly 20,000 SHU (depending on growing conditions). This is definitely a striking plant. So we are going to categorize this variety as a decorative cultivar mostly. Yes it has heat and flavour and can be used in the kitchen, but the weighting here is mostly towards the aesthetic. None the less a great variety to grow :)
