Aurora Chilli Seeds. The Aurora Chilli plant belongs to the Capsicum Annuum family of chilli plants. A striking small ornamental plants ideal for growing on widow sills and in pots. A small bushy plant with purple/green foliage and conical, upward facing pods that ripen from purple to orange and ultimately red. Striking purple flowers making this ornamental very beautiful indeed. The Aurora is very similar to the Aji de Jardin, but we have stablished that while they share many similar likenesses, they are two different varieties. The Aurora is a small bushy plant and flavour wise the two do seem to differ.
When cut open, the pods of the Aurora have a clean fresh peppery aroma. Flavour is like wise clean, fresh and peppery with undertones of citrus. While small, pods are very crunchy and juicy. The burn on these chillies is mild, with a gentle, lingering burn that is actually very pleasant. Heat wise, this chilli ranges around 5,000 - 10,000 SHU. The Aurora is a great looking chilli and would lend itself to being dried for a mild powder or chilli flakes.
