Aji Challuaruro Amarillo

Aji Challuaruro Amarillo Chilli Seeds. Aji Challuaruro Amarillo (C. Baccatum) is a very beautiful Aji variety that grows well and is very easy to maintain. Plants grow to around 60-80cm in height with an abundance of pods. Pods start off white, through white with purple patches to yellow and finally orange and purple - absolutely stunning colours. We noted in the first season of growing this cultivar that our plant produced pods that were not quite 100% on the pheno. The phenos on our plant where more twisty and cayenne like than pendant shaped which did suggest a possible instability. This seasons plant produced correct pod shapes which we will be growing out in the future. We must note that this cultivar is not stable. None the less, this is a super cool variety to grow and a very tasty variety at that. Pods have a good gentle burn at around 15,000 - 30,000 SHU. So a great variety for beginners and for those with milder palettes. Great flavour - not as pungent as most Aji varieties. These pods are cleaner and more fruity with hints of citrus. The colour is spectacular with a beautiful blush of colours on the plant throughout the season. Wonderfully crisp when eaten fresh. Great for drying and turning into powder. This cultivar gets a thumbs up from us.
